Rhodes Has Something For All

The variety of rhodes resorts is extremely wide and for all wallets as the island has a huge tourist infrastructure. Thousands of tourists every year visit the island of the Knights and a week is not enough for the visitor to explore every corner of it.

The Old Town of Lindos is a beautiful town with alleys and white houses near ancient Lindos. The Acropolis of Lindos houses an ancient temple of Athena. The fortifications of the place were further developed during medieval times.

During your stay at the rhodes resorts, don't miss a walk in the Old Port, called Mandraki. The Colossus of Rhodes once stood there and today two deer statues welcome boats to the port. Boats to Symi depart from the old port.

The Grand Master's Palace receives the most visitors on the island every year. This huge Gothic castle was built in the 14th century by the Order of the Knights Hospitaller of Saint John and was besieged in 1522 by the Ottomans.

At the northern part of the medieval town of Rhodes, is the Archaeological Museum. Its construction began in 1440 and it is housed in the Hospital of the Knights, which is one of the most impressive buildings of the Medieval City.

But it's not just the historical sights that you should visit during your stay at rhodes resorts. The manners and customs of the island are also very inspiring. The most popular food on the island, as in all the Dodecanese complex, is roast pork, while among the most popular Christmas foods are the traditional "japrakia". Also, the distinctive and delicious doubles are served as dessert all year round.
